What is being decided?

Wattle Range Council's 2026/27 Draft Annual Business Plan has been developed, and the community are invited to provide feedback prior to its adoption.

Background

The Draft Annual Business Plan 2026/27 sets out the services, programs and projects Council is proposing to deliver for the community over the coming year.

It focuses on looking after existing assets, progressing major projects and continuing advocacy for safer, improved state-managed roads, including completion of the Southern Ports Highway reconstruction.

Council is proposing $9.24 million in capital works, including $6.99 million for renewing existing assets and $2.25 million for new and upgraded assets, with roads and buildings continuing as key priorities.

The Plan includes an operating budget of $40.45 million, supported largely by $40.11 million in operating income.

As costs such as fuel, energy and waste continue to rise faster than inflation, Council is proposing a 6.9% rate increase plus 0.21% growth from newly subdivided properties to help maintain services and support long-term financial sustainability.

The draft Plan includes a broad capital works program, and the full list of proposed projects is available to view in the document.

Hard copies of the draft Plan are also available from any of Council's Offices or the Millicent Library.
