What is being decided?
Council is seeking feedback from users of the Beachport Boat Ramp on the preferred height of the existing pontoon closest to the shoreline.
Background
In mid-2023 the pontoons at the Beachport Boat Ramp underwent an upgrade which included the supply and installation of:
a new pontoon closest to shoreline with upgrades to the other two (2) pontoons;
gangways to all pontoons;
new connections to each concrete abutment; and
new stainless steel connection hinges for all.
Council officers have now engaged a contractor to address and rectify some minor issues, one of which is to address the height of the existing shoreline pontoon, which is currently at 600mm above water level.
What are the options?
There are two (2) options available for consideration in relation to the height of the existing shoreline pontoon.
Option A – Leave the existing shoreline pontoon at the current height of 600mm above water level
Option B – Lower the existing shoreline pontoon to the same height as the other pontoons at (300mm) above water level
* Please note that no new pontoons are being installed, and that any changes that may occur will be to existing pontoons only.

A simple poll has been developed for Boat Ramp users to indicate their preference. The poll is now closed for submissions.
