Wattle Range Council is seeking input from the people of Beachport in developing the Beachport Community Vision.

Update February 2024

On 21 February 2024, 100 + community members, Council staff an Elected Members gathered in the Beachport Bowling Club to discuss a community vision for Beachport.

Community visions were collected and the following three main projects were discussed:

If you couldn’t make the forum, you can still add your community vision, vote and add comments on ideas already submitted.

You can also have your say on what main project should be funded next by completing the survey.

What is a Community vision?

Each of the 13 townships of the Wattle Range Council region has its own unique community town plan written by the community, with the assistance of Council, outlining their ideas with the aim of aiding a strategic approach to implementing projects and initiatives over a ten-year period.

The objective of a community vision is to facilitate a living process, allowing priorities and projects to change in line with community needs from year to year.

Our intention is to replace what was the 'Community Town Plan', with the brand new 'Community Vision', which will capture the thoughts and ideas of those living in each town, helping to better guide Council decision making, enhancing community vibrancy, ensuring environmental sustainability, and inspiring innovation.

What projects matter to you?

We want to hear what matters to you and what projects you would like to see Council fund in your town in the future. What should be included in your community's vision?

The reimagined Community Vision will only include projects that can be achieved by Council from discretionary funds. Your project idea could be relating to the following:

  • Council buildings, roads, footpaths and drainage
  • Parks and gardens, open spaces, walking and cycling trails
  • The 'amenity' (look and feel) of the community including signage
  • Sport and recreation areas
  • Business, tourism and events

Note: See Asset Management Plans for scheduled renewal Program - project ideas should only be for projects not identified in our Asset Management Plans.
