What's being decided?
Council intends to issue a ground lease agreement for a term of ten years with a right of renewal for a further ten years, to the McCorquindale Park Management Committee over a portion of community land located at 'McCorquindale Park', within Allotment 30 in DP66422, Cameron Street, Penola.
Background
Pursuant to Section 202 of the Local Government Act, 1999 Council may grant a lease or licence over community land subject to carrying out the relevant steps set out in its Community Engagement Policy.
Council is intending to issue a ground lease for a term of ten years with a right of renewal for a further ten years, to the McCorquindale Park Management Committee over a portion of community land located at 'McCorquindale Park', within Allotment 30 in DP66422, Cameron Street, Penola.
It is proposed that the McCorquindale Park Management Committee will continue to be responsible for the portion of Allotment 30 in DP66422, Cameron Street, Penola in accordance with the lease conditions. The permitted use of the land is for sporting, cultural and community events and functions.
The proposed lease is in line with Council's Community Land Management Plan for Active Recreation Reserves (Council Land).

Public comment is invited concerning the proposals to lease in the form of a written submission.
