Have your say on the Wayfinding Signage Strategy
What's being decided?
Wattle Range Council is seeking feedback on the draft Wayfinding Signage Strategy, Wayfinding Audit and Implementation Plan and Wayfinding Signage - Style Guide. The strategy will be a guiding document to be used in all future wayfinding and signage implementations ensuring Council has a suite of signs that are consistent, easy to interpret and offer clear wayfinding that are easily understood and accessible to locals and visitors alike.
Background
As part of the 2020/21 budget, Council allocated funding for a Wayfinding Strategy for the Wattle Range Council area.
The need for improved wayfinding was highlighted in theMillicent and Penola Town Centre Concept Designs and Councils Disability Access and Inclusion Plan. The strategic review of the Visitor Information Centres and Tourism in 2019 also found that there was virtually no interpretive signage to encourage visitors to stop and explore within the Council area.
The objective of this project is to develop a Wayfinding Strategy for the Wattle Range Council area including signage concept development, construction documentation and a prioritised implementation plan.
