Wattle Range Council is inviting community feedback on the draft Beachport Coastal Adaptation Strategy. Have your say on how coastal risks should be managed into the future.

The draft Strategy sets out a long-term plan to manage coastal hazards such as erosion and inundation (both permanent and temporary) through to 2100. It also explains how and when different adaptation actions may be triggered over time.

Background

Following several years of research, modelling and consultation with key stakeholders and the community, Council have developed the draft Beachport Coastal Adaptation Strategy in partnership with engineering consultants FSC Range.

The draft Strategy was endorsed for public consultation at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 9 June 2026. See the Council Report.

The Beachport Coastal Adaptation Strategy has been developed to help identify, understand and plan for future coastal hazards and risks affecting the township of Beachport. The draft Strategy and the accompanying technical reportprovides a longterm framework to guide Council decision making and future planning for the Beachport coastline, supporting a proactive and informed approach to coastal adaptation.

Your feedback will help inform future decisions and how Council prioritises investment in coastal management.

Presentation of the proposed Beachport Coastal Adaptation Strategy
